2012 Luau Fun!

Our 2012 Luau Party was a tremendous success!   The Chefs spoiled us with Delicious Hawaiian food and we we had a fantastic crowd!  We had well over 250 residents and guest in attendance for lunch! 

 

 

Everyone wore their best Luau Gear!

Chef Lee created a fruit masterpiece that was absolutely stunning!

Linda greeted everyone at the door with a refreshing drink with an umbrella!

We had a great crowd for the show after lunch.

The anticipation for the show to start was palpable.

We had a wonderful time at the 2012 Luau!  We can't wait for next summer to come around and have another Luau Party!  

Summer's Buzzing at CCV!

Have a look at one of our adorable Hummingbird neighbors!   This lovely fellow lives outside of Pauline and Irene's window.   He's just adorable!

Yesterday, Karen Presented the Five Wishes program.  This wonderful program makes creating a Living Will a Snap!

Elvis is in the Building!!

M&M celebrated her 91st Birthday in style!   Everyone joined her in the Stardust room and Elvis made his grand entrance!

Health Checks by Senior Life Care

Senior Life Care was on site this morning doing blood pressure and blood sugar checks!   Residents headed upstairs to meet with nurses and get their vitals checked!

Karen was on hand to answer any questions that our neighbors had.

These ladies are fantastic!  

Staying in control of your health is critical.   As such, Senior Life Care has offered to come in once a month so that our residents can keep a better idea of how their blood sugar and blood pressure changes over time. 

Stick around-at 1:15 today, John Fyfe from Humana will be in the Stardust Room to answer questions about the 2012-2013 Medicare changes that will happen in October!   Today is a great day to take control of your health!

"A Pie In the Face Is Worth...Well. A Pie In the Face"

In a CCV First, we auctioned off 8 pies at the Funny Money Auction.   Each pie had a destiny with a specific staff members face.   It was the perfect chance for us to enjoy a little humor at the staff's expense!  

You can hide all you want under your trash bag suits, but don't think it's going to help you much!

Mr. Wayne bought Sharon's pie, but just barely dipped her nose in it.   So Robert came out of the wood works and smashed a huge on on her!  Poor Sharon-never saw it coming.

Alright.  Well.   This is Stacy.  This "Pie Fiasco" was actually her idea.  But originally, it was just supposed to be the 4 managers getting pies.  You can see how well that worked out.

Marion-O was the proud winner of Jim's pie.  His old for a whopping $7,000!  Revenge may be sweet, but it's also expensive!

Funny Money Auction

We've been saving our Funny Money since February and last week was the time to CASH IN!   Gather up your Funny Money and bring it on upstairs-it's time for the auction!

The silent auction went first.  The first item on the agenda was to cash out all the prizes won during the Silent Auction.   Step on up-collect your prize!

J.C. and Joanie took a minute to discuss strategies!

Erin showed off the Ponytail plant.  Stacy managed to keep this thing alive and healthy for a WHOLE WEEK!   It's gotta be tough-right?
