Murder...Mystery...MAGIC!

Today was a fantastic day at CCV! The day was filled with Murder, Mystery and Magic! Before lunch, our residents and staff teamed together to perform our Murder Mystery Play! Somebody MURDERED Mr. Ramsey...who dun it?

The murderer was annouced at lunch. So who killed Mr. Ramsey? Was it the Widow? The Nosey Neighbor? The Detective? Maybe the Butler? Or the greedy niece? Maybe it was the Maid! No-the Gardener did it! Maybe it was all of them together!!!

We'll never say. But that poor man was shot, stabbed and Posioned!



After lunch, we all trooped back upstairs to see the one and ONLY Maxwell Blade!

Linda and Jim were excited to see the show!

Maxwell had a great crowd!

Then, it was time to bring Mike into the act. He, of course, HAD to have the right hair!

He was a fanastic Magician!

Maxwell even made Jaunita a magician! Apparenlty, it's all in the eyebrow. Who knew, eh?

We had a WONDERFUL DAY!

Warm Welcome to Laraine Lamb!

Laraine is our new Assistant Manager/Sales Director. She most recently was the Regional Ombudsman with Area Agency on Aging in Garland County. As Ombudsman she traveled five counties advocating for resident rights. She relocated to Hot Springs two years ago from Mexico, MO with her dog, Bambam and two cats, Princess and Big Baby. Laraine has a degree in Psychology from Ouachita Baptist University. She has worked with seniors as an assisted living administrator and marketing director. Laraine states she is very happy to be a part of the CCV family and looking forward to great things.

Trip to Crater of Diamonds

We took a trip to the Crater of Diamonds State Park yesterday. We had a blast and a half! We took dozens and dozens of pictures and we hope that you enjoy them!

Inside the Visitors Center were several Diamonds that had been found at the Crater.

After we walked around the Visitor's Center, we went outside and watched a few videos to learn to how to find our riches.

Then it was time to pick up the tools of our trade. Luckily, they sold tools right there on site. They even rented out sift boxes.

And then, we were off! Off and running and ready to find our Diamonds! The Plan? Divide and conquer!

Well. As if to taunt us, there were several of these "markers" scattered around to show where giant diamonds had been found. The markers did us absolutely no good, whatsoever.

We found this building in the back of one of the fields.

Linda took a moment to dig through her haul.

After we had our fill of playing in the dirt, we headed to a specialist to our finds appraised.

As fun sounding as "Volcanic Ash" might be, it wasn't worth a thing. Lyn ended up with the best find of the day! Sadly, no one in our bunch took home a diamond. We did discover that at least two diamonds are found each and every day at the park. And that does not even include the locals! We were told that locals will come ang gather dirt and that they can gather 9-11 diamonds each and every time they come out! Practice makes perfect, eh?


We washed our hands and got ready to head home. It was only after we stopped for a quick photoshoot that we realized that we weren't quite done with our Crater of Diamonds Adventure just yet!

HELP!!!!!

Thankfully, we were saved by two Park Rangers. These guys were wonderful!

We had a fabulous trip to the Crater of Diamonds and look forward to making another trip soon! Well, maybe after we take some "diamond hunting" lessons....and have the bus spend a day or two at a mechanic shop! But we sure do have a great story to tell!

Swing Into Spring!

We had a ball welcoming Spring at CCV!

Yesterday, our fabulous Chefs created a wonderful diner-style meal that was complete with burgers, fries and ribs! We even had Root Beer Floats for desert!

After lunch, we scooted upstairs to the Stardust Room for our Swing into Spring Sock Hop!

While we're looking at feet....

It was almost like an instinct. Suddenly, everybody knew that you don't wear shoes to a Sock Hop-and the shoes were kicked off under the tables!

We had a great time dancing!

For those who weren't quite done dancing, the Chair Dancers wrapped up the Dance Floor after the Sock Hop.

Water Party!

Water is wonderful for you. It keeps you healthy and moving. Doctors say to drink 8 glasses a day. But, lets face it-water is so plain! In Arkansas, we drink tea.

We don't "like" sweet tea. We don't "love" sweet tea. We are in a longterm relationship with Tea! Down here, people have been drinking tea since the ripe age of two!

We made a group effort today to move away from tea and try some of the new flavored waters that have come out in the last few years. We tried everything from Strawberry to Pomegrante to Mojito and Appletini!

The favorite?

Margarita!!

And after the party, Stacy took a moment to demostrate her awesome skills with a broom. And no-those skills do not include cleaning.

STAY, BROOM!

We all practiced the utterly useless skill of freestanding a broom. Who knew, right? You learn something new every day!

And what is a party without somebody getting pushed around in a dolly?

Oh boys....those were virgin Mojitos!

NOODLE!

We have been waiting all winter for the chance to find a store selling Water Noodles! The great pool toys make for an epic on-land battle!

We asked residents to sit across from each other. One side held green noodles and the other side held blue noodles. The object of the game is use your noodle to push a beachball (which is dropped in the middle) all the way to your left and through two chairs for a goal! The first team to 6 points wins!

Linda had to teach Jim a lesson for messing up her hair!
