Happy Halloween!

Halloween is one of our favorite holidays!  We love getting dressed up and partying together and this year we raised the bar!

Sharon came as the Queen of Hearts from Alice in Wonderland.

Everybody knows that the Red M&M is the best one!

Witchy Witchy!

Goodness!

Poor Neva was WORN OUT!  Being 93 and 8 and a half months pregnant isn't easy!

Skunk!

So many great costumes!

Chef Joseph might scare a potato with that knife, but not much else!

After lunch, we came upstairs for the party.  The room was PACKED!

We were dancing in the front and in the back of the room!

Great costumes, girls!

Tom was SO SCARY!   His eyes glowed red.

Our Judges for the Costume Contest were Kellie, Katelyn and Wayne.  Thanks guys!

The Nelson looked adorable as always.  They're the cutest couple you'll ever meet!

Garl won the best costume in the "I made this costume last night" category.

M&M....I MUSTACHE you a question...how did you only win third place?

Tom took home second.

It's the Macarena!

Slowing the dance down...

And finally, we present our overall costume winner-Neva!   Congratulations!

Better get working on your costume for next year-you only have 364 days left!

Happy Halloween!

Oktoberfest!

October is one of our favorite times of the year.  One of our favorite events is our annual Oktoberfest!  This year, we went all out-join us as we review the day!

Of course we had proper outfits!  Chef William does NOT make a pretty lady.

Ernie took the mic and sang us a German song during lunch.  It was beautiful!

Lunch was delicious!

Smile, Jim!

We found ourselves a pair of beer barrels!

After lunch, we headed upstairs of karaoke....dancing...and our Staff Yodeling Contest!!!

Our big winner was Linda!

Jim Yodeling?   "Riiiiicoooollllaaaa!"

Sometimes, you have more luck with you partner up your yodeling.

The staff surprised the managers with a cake in celebration of Boss's Day!

YAY-CAKE!

The cake turned out beautifully.

We had a blast at karaoke!

All in all, Oktoberfest was a tremendous success!   We had a wonderful time.   Join us next time-we promise you will love it!

Flu Shot Time!

Rob from National Park Pharmacy came over to give us our yearly flu shots.  It was so nice to not have to go into town to get it done!  He gave over 65 shots-Residents and Staff both!   We are looking forward to them coming back in November to do another round of shots for those who missed their chance this time.

Oh, Bill  Quit being so dramatic.  It's not that bad!

Kellie helped Rob get the shots prepped.

Are you ready, Woodie?

Everyone at the end of the line sure looked happy!

Way to go, Barbara!

Minor took his turn in the Hot Seat, too!

Even those this afternoon will never make our "Top 10 Best Afternoons of All Time" list, it was great to get the flu shot done.   And it really didn't even hurt!

Thanks Rob!

Homecoming 2013

In high school across the country, Homecoming Football games are hosted so that the schools' Alumni can come back and enjoy an evening with their old classmates.   We decided to host our own Homecoming to welcome back residents who have moved out over the years.

In true CCV Style, there was no doing it halfway!   We hosted nominations and elections for a Homecoming Court, had a fabulous meal, a professional photographer and a live 6 piece band!

Elected a Homecoming King and Queen, 2 Princes and 2 Princesses.

Our decorations were just out of this world!  The lobby has never looked better!

Chef William cut Prime Rib for everyone as they came through the line.

Everyone wore their best outfits and dressed to the 9s!

Sharon was announced as our First Princess!

Nancy was also elected Princess!

Congratulations, Prince Walter!

Introducing, Prince Joe!

Nobody was surprised when Tom was announced as King!   He had to stoop down for Linda to crown him.

Meet our Queen!   Jonnie and Tom are our Royal Couple!

Everybody ready?

Royal Lunch!

We were BEYOND excited to have a professional photographer come and take pictures of us in our best outfits!   We were able to pose alone or in groups with our friends.    Everybody likes to be treated like Royalty every now and then.  The best part?  It's free!

I think you could call this a "Royal Photobomb"

The court got together for a picture.

After lunch, we were entertained by the beautiful sounds of the Village Dixielanders!

This group is just wonderful!

The whole court!

Lets dance!

The room is packed!

This entire day was just amazing!   Everyone was so happy and looked so nice....this will be a day that none of us will be forgetting anytime soon!
