Fall Festival 2012

We had a Boot Scootin' GREAT time yesterday at the CCV Fall Festival!

We kicked the day off with Hayrides!

We had SO MUCH FUN!
Load up for Round #2!

Look closely to the right....Stacy gave Cindy a "Little Help" getting up onto the trailer.

Say "Cheese!"

Jim and Linda looked adorable!

Sharon and Walter were a hoot!

After the hayrides and a delicious BBQ lunch, we scooted our boots inside for a show by the one and only-CATFISH!

Ya'll ready to go?

Catfish was awesome!

Hurry Up!  You're missing the show!

Time to line dance!

Get up and Dance!

Edith and Stacy had a great time!

Tricia was rockin' to the beat from downstairs!

After the dance, Walter took the time to PARK ILLEGALLY!   We all needed to rest for a minute, because next up-S'MORES!

Time to bring out your sticks, ladies and gentlemen!  Let's roast those marshmallows!

Maimi's s'more looked delicious!  And the messier, the better!

While Jim waited for s'mores, it was time to practice some good ol' Cowboys and Indians Skills!   We brought out the bow...the arrow...

And the Bullsye!

Hurry up and finish your s'mores, there's arrows to be shot!

"Perfection takes time"

You can do it!

We had a GREAT time!  We started the party early and kept it going all day long.   By the time dinner rolled around, this group of Cowboys and Cowgirls were WHOOPED.   Time to turn in, hit the hay, and do it all over again tomorrow!

Putting Your FACE Where Your MOUTH Is!

The Hogs have had a rough start to the season this year.  With the last two weekends of painful losses, Bus Driver Bill made our Residents a promise last Friday at lunch.  He was so sure that the Hogs would win the game on Saturday, that if they DIDN'T, he would take a pie in the face on Monday.

That sounds like a win-win to us!

Unfortunately for the Razorbacks (And for Bill) the slaughter on Saturday night was a painful one.  But the time has come to pay the piper!

WOO PIGG SOOOIE!!

Jim was kind enough to do the honors.  And to make the "pieing" slightly better, Tricia was kind enough to add some Chocolate Chips to the pie.  YUM!

Oh, Bill...

Pauline was kind enough to help Bill clean up afterwards.
"With Friends Like These...."

HA!

This was all in good fun, but we are all die hard Hog fans.  Win, lose or draw-we love us some Hogs in Arkansas!

We'll have better luck next weekend.

WOOOOOOO PIG SOOOOOOOIEEEEE!!

2012 Dog Days of Summer Dog Show

We celebrated the Dog Days of Summer with the 2nd Annual Dog Days of Summer Dog Show!  Residents brought their dogs (And Grand-Dogs!) to the Stardust Room to Strut Their Stuff in an attempt to win the best prizes!

Hone was absolutely adorable!

How could you not love this face?

Chelsea was so well behaved!

Helmet (Stacy's Dog) and M&M made fast friends!

Bingo had the best outfit of the day-PAWS DOWN.

Farrah made a BIG impression!

Helmet took center stage to show off his "Roll Over" Trick

Bingo and her family were adorable!

Now, not everybody has the kind of dog that you have to feed and clean up after.  These were our quietest contestants!

Cookie won "Best Trick" with this number.

Stella took a moment to tell everyone how she adopted Buddy.

Lori couldn't be any happier!

We all had a great time at the Dog Show!  All the dogs got along famously and we had a great time trying to pick our favorites!

But now, the question remains...do we attempt a Cat Show?  The fur may fly!  Stay tuned!

Pleased as a Porcupine Meeting a Pineapple!

We were excited to Welcome Amy from Walgreens today and lined up for our Flu Shots!  We had a grand total of 41 shots given out today.  YAY!

Bus Diver Bill was all smiles!

Jeri said that it didn't hurt as bad as she thought it would, but you sure couldn't tell by watching!

"RELAX!"

Marion-O said it was easy!

Don't be such a baby!

These four troublemakers kept us in stitches while we waited.

Mary even put a smilie face on her band aid!

Amy was fantastic!  Even though getting a Flu Shot may not be the most fantastic experience in the world, she made them quick and easy.   Thanks again, Walgreens!

2012 Arkansas Senior Olympics

Today, the CCV Vipers Participated in the 2012 Arkansas Senior Olympics Beanbag Baseball Championship Game.  We had a full rooster of 15 Team Members and 9 Cheerleaders.

These ladies were so amazingly supportive!

The team took a moment for a picture before we headed off the the games.

The first team was played was The Conway Shakers.  The Shakers actually beat us last year in the second round of the game.  We were a little nervous about facing them first this year, but the team pulled it together and WON!
Boyd was one of our stars today-that look of determination in his face says "I'm about to get another Home Run!"

Jim was our Scorekeeper today.

The bases are loaded!  Come on with that HOME RUN!

Stella was on her game in the second game we played against the Fireballs.  They were tough-but we beat them and moved on to the Semi-Finals!

Our Third Game of the day was against a team from Sherwood.   If we won, we would get to play for 1st or 2nd place.  If we lost, we would compete for the 3rd Place Medal.

Jim never took his eyes off that board!

Sherwood gave us a run for our money and, unfortunately, we lost our third game.  But we weren't totally out of the running just yet!

The 4th game of the day was the toughest of them all.  We scrambled, but pulled together a BIG WIN!

The Country Club Village Vipers have one the Bronze Medal in the 2012 Arkansas Senior Olympics!

We were elated to receive our medals!

We could not be more proud!

Jim did the honors of "biting" his medal-just like an Olympian!

When we came home, the entire staff met us at the door with signs and music playing "We Are The Champions"!   We were so happy to have such a welcome home!

Today was a fantastic day!   We can't wait until next year-we're taking home the GOLD next year!
